No Byproducts
These are things other than meat, such as heads, feet, underdeveloped eggs, lungs, spleens, bones, blood, etc. Byproducts are poorly digested, increasing the workload on your pet’s kidneys. Kidney failure is the second major killer of older dogs.

These are cheap processed grains, such as brewers rice, ground rice, wheat flour, rye flour, etc. Processed grains are stripped of their nutritional value and these empty calories contribute to excess weight gain.

Chicken in VéRUS Puppy Advantage, Life Advantage (Canine) & Life Advantage (Feline) is hormone & antibiotic free chicken raised for human consumption. Quality! What really makes the formula different is the vitamin/mineral premix.
It is not minimum levels to meet AAFco requirements. We use higher levels of nutrients in the premix to account for absorption problems some dogs may have. I rescued my beloved black lab Topper when he was 18 months old. He was very underweight (58 pounds) and his teeth were "much older than his age," according to the vet, so who knows what he was fed? Dear VeRUS Pet Foods
Hazel Lucy is my 9 year old cat. She was diagnosed with diabetes about 3 years ago. I gave her 5 units of insulin twice a day. Initially she ate the Hill’s food for diabetic cats. Then I found Superior Pet and bought holistic cat food. In 2006 I switched to Verus and after two small bags she was stable at 2 units once per day. Since she began eating this wonderful food, she is more alert, more active, and her fur is like down.
